Pofi: English for Kids

Pofi: English for Kids is an English-learning app for children aged 6 to 12. A friendly mascot, Pofi, walks the child across a map of four worlds, one short stop at a time. Instructions are in the child’s own language and read aloud, so a child who is still learning to read can follow along. It works offline, with no ads and no account.

What is Pofi?

Pofi is an offline English app for children. The map has four worlds (Flower Meadow, Rainbow Island, Chat City and Adventure Harbor), each with eight units. A unit is a short path of stops: new words, more words, action words, phrases or a chat, building sentences, a “magic rule” for grammar, a story and a big game. Each stop takes a few minutes.

What does a child learn?

32 units with 512 picture words and 192 everyday phrases: from colors, animals and family in the first world to conversations in town and adventure stories in the last. The level rises gently from first words to simple conversations, roughly from CEFR A1 to A2, with early B1 dialogue at the end.

How does Pofi keep learning calm?

There are no timers, no lives, no lost streaks, no ads and no notifications. A wrong answer never takes anything away: Pofi thinks for a moment and the child tries again. Stars only grow, and stickers fill an album. A parent can set a break reminder that suggests a rest without locking the app, and a calm mode with less motion.

What is in the Parent area?

The Parent area sits behind a multiplication question. It shows progress (words, stars, days and minutes) and holds the settings: language, sounds, spoken instructions, slow speech, calm mode, break reminder and English-only talk in Worlds 3 and 4. Renaming, resetting progress, the full-version purchase and the privacy policy are there too.

Which languages are there?

The child learns English, read aloud with American pronunciation. Instructions and translations are in Turkish, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Brazilian Portuguese, Indonesian and Spanish; the app picks the device language on first launch. The lesson content and translations were prepared with AI tools and checked by the developer; the app itself has no AI features.

Is Pofi free?

World 1, with its eight units, is free and has no ads. A one-time purchase in the Parent area unlocks Worlds 2 to 4; it is not a subscription. On iPhone the purchase can be shared through Family Sharing. Children never see prices or sales messages.

What data does Pofi use?

Pofi has no accounts, no server, no ads, no analytics and no crash reporting. The child’s name, progress and settings stay on the device; speech is recognized on the device and never recorded. The internet is used only when a parent buys or restores the full version through the App Store or Google Play.

Frequently asked questions

Does Pofi work offline?

Yes. All lessons, pictures and stories ship inside the app; no connection is needed to learn.

Does my child need the microphone?

No. Speaking exercises are optional; without permission, or on a device that cannot recognize speech on the device, they are simply skipped.

Does my child need to read?

Not much. Instructions are short and read aloud in the child’s language, and every English word is read aloud with a tap.

Is Pofi available in stores?

Pofi is being prepared for the App Store and Google Play and is not yet publicly available. Store links will be added to this page when it launches.
